Corten planters and shaded seating zones for a downtown streetscape, engineered for 50 °C summer surface temperatures.
Project Background
A downtown developer wanted premium streetscape furniture that would look striking under intense desert sun, with surfaces that stay touchable at 50 °C.
Our Solution
We delivered 120 Bloom Square Corten Planters and 60 UrbanRest Backless Benches with light-colored hardwood slats and heat-reflective coatings, plus 40 Guardian bollards protecting the pedestrian zone.
Results
- Surface temperatures reduced by up to 15 °C versus the original spec
- Zero coating failures after the first full summer
- The developer replicated the design in a second district
