Wholesale park benches are the most heavily used piece of furniture a city owns, so this park bench manufacturer builds them around duty cycle rather than showroom appearance: welded steel or cast frames, hot-dip galvanized and powder-coated finishes, and slats with radiused edges that will not splinter or trap water.

The range covers backless benches for plazas and promenades, backrest benches for parks and waiting areas, laser-cut decorative backs for signature streetscapes, stainless steel frames for coastal and high-humidity sites, and bench-and-planter combinations that build a planting edge into the seat line. Every slat is individually replaceable years later without scrapping the frame.

As a park bench manufacturer in Foshan we supply landscape contractors, municipalities and developers with OEM lengths, RAL colours, engraved plaques and laser-cut city logos. Typical project orders run 50–500 pcs with container-optimised packing, and our engineers return a costed bill of materials against your drawings within one working day.

Every model is dimensioned in both systems: the park bench dimensions in mm and inches table converts each standard length and seat height for US tender documents.

Dimensions are taken from the current product catalogue. Imperial equivalents: 1800 mm = 5.9 ft (70.9 in); 450 mm seat height = 17.7 in. The Type column separates a backless bench from a backrest bench on the wording of each model's own catalogue description; a model whose description does not state the type is marked pending rather than inferred, and sales confirm it against the drawing on request. Custom lengths are a custom run, quoted from 50 pcs per model.

Which build fits which site

A short decision table for specifiers — the same logic our engineers apply when reviewing a project drawing.

Site conditionRecommended buildWhy
Park, promenade, plazaPowder-coated steel frame + hardwood or WPC slatsBest balance of cost, repairability and appearance
Coastal, salt-air, waterfront304 stainless frame + hardwood slatsStainless resists chloride pitting where painted steel would creep
High-vandal urban siteSteel-bar slats, welded frame, tamper-resistant fixingsNo timber to break or burn; single welded body
Heritage or landscaped gardenCast ends or stone-base benchHeavy visual mass that reads as permanent furniture

Outdoor Bench vs Park Bench: What Buyers Mean

In procurement documents the two terms describe the same product line, not two. Park bench is the catalogue term — a seated unit with a defined frame, slats and anchoring detail. Outdoor bench is the broader phrase specifiers reach for when a drawing shows seating without naming the construction, and it can resolve to a backless plaza seat, a backrest bench for a shaded walk, or a bench-and-planter combination at a plaza edge. Write the dimensions, slat material and fixing method into the specification; the label on the drawing matters less than those numbers.

Bench with Backrest vs Backless: Which to Specify Where

The first choice for any outdoor bench is not the material — it is whether the seat has a back. The backless vs backrest bench decision comes before the material choice — both frames share the same slats, anchors and coatings, but they behave differently in the space:

Decision factor: backless vs backrest benchBackless benchBench with backrest
Overall depth usedShallower — sits tight against walls, railings and planter edgesDeeper — the back rake needs clearance behind for sitting and cleaning
Relative unit costTypically lower: less frame, fewer weldsTypically higher: back frame and extra structure
Suited toPlazas, promenades and waterfront edges where sightlines matter and people sit facing the view from both sidesParks, waiting areas and transit settings where people stay longer
UsabilitySuits short stays; less support for elderly usersLumbar support; easier for older users to rest and rise

As a rule: specify backless where the view is the attraction and seating should read as a line in the landscape — the Plaza backless, Aluminium backless and Stainless backless benches are the standard picks. Specify a backrest where dwell time carries the brief — the Fairway and Skyline benches, with laser-cut decorative backs for signature streetscapes.

Price Bands and What Changes Them

The park bench price you pay is driven by the frame-and-slat construction far more than by length. Any figure shown on a model page is indicative only; the firm commercial bench cost comes from a quotation against your quantity, finish and destination port. The relative bands:

ConstructionRelative price bandTypical use
Steel frame + WPC slatsLowest bandStandard municipal fleets at high unit counts
Steel frame + hardwood slatsMid bandParks and plazas where the timber look matters
304 stainless frameHigher bandCoastal, salt-air and premium streetscapes
Stone-base constructionHighest bandHeritage and signature landscape projects

To get an accurate quotation, send: quantity per model, bench length, RAL colour, fixing method (surface or embedded), destination port and any drawings. The commercial side — incoterms, deposit and payment — is set out on the trade terms page.

Replacement Slats Without Replacing the Frame

Every slat in the range is individually replaceable, so a damaged bench is a slat order, not a capital replacement — and the frame typically outlives two slat cycles. The options, and when to choose each:

Slat materialWeatheringMaintenanceStructural strengthChoose when
Hardwood — ipeVery dense; excellent weatheringPeriodic oilingHighPremium landscapes wanting a dense, stable timber
Hardwood — accoyaAcetylated; dimensionally very stableLowHighWet climates and finishes that must hold
Hardwood — conventionalGood with careRegular oilingHighStandard park programmes on a budget
WPCNo rotNoneModerateMaintenance-light municipal fleets
Powder-coated steel barCoating-led; touch up scratches promptlyTouch-upHigh (welded single body)High-vandal urban sites
AluminiumCorrosion-resistantLowModerateCoastal or weight-critical installs

Species availability is narrower than the material list suggests: ipe is currently specified on the curve backless bench and accoya on the zen round timber bin. A different model in either species is an OEM confirmation, not a catalogue option. Recycled plastic lumber is not currently one of our slat options — its trade-offs are covered in our recycled plastic vs timber comparison. A spares schedule and slat-only pricing are quoted per project — raise it when you order rather than assuming an off-the-shelf parts line. The oiling cycle and refinishing detail are covered in our hardwood slat maintenance guide.

Materials, coating and quality control

The same four stages apply to every model in this range, whether it is a catalogue item or a bespoke project — which is why a bench, a bin and a planter from one order will still match after five years outdoors.

Steel

Mild steel sheet and tube, laser-cut and MIG-welded; gauge selected per load path rather than a single house gauge.

Corrosion protection

Hot-dip galvanizing to ISO 1461 on request, or a zinc-rich primer where hollow sections make dipping impractical.

Powder coating

Outdoor-grade polyester powder coat over a conversion coating, cured to the coating supplier's schedule; any RAL colour.

Quality control

Incoming material check, weld inspection, coating thickness and adhesion, pre-shipment inspection with photo record.

Test reports (salt spray, coating thickness, material certificates) are issued with the shipment when requested and can be supplied at tender stage. We do not publish test figures for a product until the report for that specific build exists.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order quantity for commercial park benches? +

It is set per model and printed on each product page — 20 pcs on most models, 5 pcs on selected builds. Mixed models share a container, so a project needing 30 benches and 30 bins still ships as one load; ask sales to confirm the minimum for the model you are specifying.

What is the standard bench length and seat height? +

Our standard length is 1800 mm, which is 5.9 ft or 70.9 in — commonly specified as a 6 ft bench. Seat height is 450 mm (17.7 in). Lengths from 1200 mm to 2400 mm are available as OEM options.

Should benches be surface-fixed or embedded? +

Surface fixing with expansion anchors suits paved plazas and rooftop decks where the slab cannot be cut. Embedded anchoring suits lawns and parks and resists levering better. Both kits ship with stainless fasteners; the choice is usually dictated by the substrate drawing.

How long do hardwood, WPC and powder-coated slats last? +

Powder-coated steel slats hold colour longest in full sun; hardwood needs periodic oiling but can be sanded and refinished; WPC needs no finish at all but has lower structural strength. Because slats are individually replaceable, the frame typically outlives two slat cycles.

What is the lead time and how many benches fit in a container? +

Production and sea freight are quoted per project. Bench frames nest and slats pack flat, so a 40ft high-cube typically carries several hundred units depending on model; sales will confirm loading for your exact mix before you place the deposit.

Do you make metal park benches? +

Yes — three frame families: powder-coated galvanized steel for standard fleets, 304 stainless for coastal and premium sites, and aluminium where weight or corrosion resistance matters. Each frame takes hardwood, WPC or steel-bar slats, so the slat material is chosen for the site rather than fixed by the frame.

Are you the park bench manufacturer or a trading company? +

We are the manufacturer, with an own factory in Foshan, Guangdong, where laser cutting, welding, hot-dip galvanizing and powder coating sit under one roof. Factory-direct means quotations come from the production side and OEM changes go straight to our engineers — no intermediary in between.
